The Isac Amaya Foundation began raising scholarship funds in 2006 in response to proposition 300. The legislation left hundreds of undocumented students having to pay out-of-state tuition even though they lived and went to school in Arizona their whole lives. It also made them ineligible for government-funded scholarships, which caused them to lose money they had received from state colleges and universities.
Every year we award a variety of academic scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students attending community colleges and universities across Arizona. Our scholarships are open to all students, regardless of immigration status.
