The Isac Amaya Foundation began raising scholarship funds in 2006 in response to proposition 300. The legislation left hundreds of undocumented students having to pay out-of-state tuition even though they lived and went to school in Arizona their whole lives. It also made them ineligible for government-funded scholarships, which caused them to lose money they had received from state colleges and universities.
Every year we award a variety of academic scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students. Our scholarships are open to all students, regardless of immigration status.
Since 2014, we also offer matching funds for DACA applications. We offer the DACA scholarships to students, since that makes their path to higher education easier.
Our 2016-1017 scholarship cycle is closed.
